Moonee Ponds is located in Melbourne's inner North West approximately 5kms from the Melbourne CBD.  The Moonee Ponds CBD is home to a large number and variety of retailing and commercial businesses.  A large proportion of this is concentrated in and around the vibrant Puckle Street.

Moonee Ponds also plays a major role in the framework for the State Governments plans for the development of Melbourne as a sustainable city, being nominated as a principal Activity Centre under the ‘Melbourne 2030' initiative. Easy accessibility and a location in close proximity to major transport arterials, all forms of public transport, the Melbourne airport, schools, shopping and business add further strength to this location.

At completion this Mirvac Shopping Centre will have integrated malls which will provide direct access between its adjoining high street destination and Mirvac's existing Moonee Ponds Central which is anchored by Coles a Supermarket which trades 24 hours 7 days a week. In addition Moonee Ponds Central offers 24 specialty stores primarily offering fresh food and convenience/service retailing to its customers and has almost 400 car spaces (with half of these undercover) attached to the centre.

Mirvac's new retail development will see the addition of approximately 10,000m² of new retail space to this already vibrant inner city hub.  Inclusions will consist of a brand new 5,000m² K-mart, 1,000m² 1stChoice Liquor plus 45 to 50 new specialty stores over two buildings.  This shopping centre will be serviced by approximately 500 new undercover car parking spaces direct accessible from below the main retailing level. With convenient car parking as a major driver, this presents the first major development opportunity to improve the quality of the retailing on offer in this strong location which ultimately forms the new heart of the Moonee Ponds CBD.  The development is strengthened by the strong performance of surrounding retail precincts including both Mirvac's Coles and a free standing Safeway supermarket located on the opposite side of Puckle Street, the Puckle Street strip and the many businesses and activities in the immediate surrounds.
